It has now been over 30 years fishing the California Aqueduct. I prefer Trilene 15lb test line in the summer and 20lb test in the winter and not a lot of weight for the Freshwater stripers or catfish. I personally believe that the aqueuduct changes from year to year; meaning, if gates are open (water is flowing) and you should land a good one. The aqueduct is a hit and miss though, stripers use the aqueduct as we do like the 14 fwy. Cut backs on water, cuts back on landing the Stripers, that is why I say try different areas, as in bends and curves along with fishing the rough side first then the calm side of the aqueduct. Trying different techniques and retreives always is a plus to all.
